Music Transformer

Transformer

Whatever you may feel about the 'Transformer' movies, the music was simply beautiful. This CD is a great collection of some of the best pieces from the trilogy, including personal favorites 'The All Spark' and 'Arrival to Earth'. London Music Works does a great job with the pieces, even improving on some of the original recordings in my opinion. Music Transformer is an open source machine learning model from the Magenta research group at Google that can generate musical performances with some long-term structure. We find it interesting to see what these models can and can’t do, so we made this app to make it easier to explore and curate the model’s output.

  1. Music Transformer. ∙ by Cheng-Zhi Anna Huang, et al. ∙ Google ∙ 0 ∙ share. Music relies heavily on repetition to build structure and meaning. Self-reference occurs on multiple timescales, from motifs to phrases to reusing of entire sections of music, such as in pieces with ABA structure.
  2. Transformers Energon: The music is sometimes pointed to as the series' only consistent saving grace. Transformers Cybertron had an awesome soundtrack, although the original Japanese version, Galaxy Force, and the US version (which was mostly unchanged, with a few exceptions such as the exclusion of the Japanese vocal songs) have individual fan.

Abstract: A great number of deep learning based models have been recently proposed forautomatic music composition. Among these models, the Transformer stands out asa prominent approach for generating expressive classical piano performance witha coherent structure of up to one minute. The model is powerful in that itlearns abstractions of data on its own, without much human-imposed domainknowledge or constraints. In contrast with this general approach, this papershows that Transformers can do even better for music modeling, when we improvethe way a musical score is converted into the data fed to a Transformer model. In particular, we seek to impose a metrical structure in the input data, sothat Transformers can be more easily aware of the beat-bar-phrase hierarchicalstructure in music. The new data representation maintains the flexibility oflocal tempo changes, and provides hurdles to control the rhythmic and harmonicstructure of music. With this approach, we build a Pop Music Transformer thatcomposes Pop piano music with better rhythmic structure than existingTransformer models.

Black ops 3 repack google drive. Previously, we introduced Music Transformer, an autoregressive model capable of generating expressive piano performances with long-term structure. We are now releasing an interactive Colab notebook so that you can control such a model in a few different ways, or just generate new performances from scratch.

Here are some samples generated using the colab:

Generated continuation for the opening of Debussy's 'Clair de lune'
Generated accompaniment for 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat' melody

We trained unconditioned and melody-conditioned Transformer models and made the resulting checkpoints and the code necessary to use it available as a Colab notebook. The models used in the Colab were trained on an exciting data source: piano recordings on YouTube transcribed using Onsets and Frames. We trained each Transformer model on hundreds of thousands of piano recordings, with a total length of over 10,000 hours. As described in the Wave2Midi2Wave approach, using such transcriptions allows us to train symbolic music models on a representation that carries the expressive performance characteristics from the original recordings. Transformer Song

For our dataset, we started with public YouTube videos that had a license allowing for their use. We then used an AudioSet-based model to identify pieces that contained only piano music. This resulted in hundreds of thousands of videos. In order to train Transformer models, we needed that content to be in a symbolic, MIDI-like form. So we extracted the audio and processed it using our Onsets and Frames automatic music transcription model. This resulted in over 10,000 hours of symbolic piano music that we then used to train the models.
